Reverse Thanksgiving Food Drive

Updated: Nov 20, 2021

SPRINGFIELD, IL (November 13, 2021) - In lieu of our annual Thanksgiving Dinner, CORAL will be holding a Reverse Thanksgiving Food Drive on Saturday November 20th from 11 AM until 2 PM.

Please bring any food items you wish to donate to First Church of the Brethren on Yale Boulevard in Springfield. Food items that we receive will be divided between the micropantries located at Fifth Street Renaissance and Boys and Girls Club of Central Illinois. Any monetary gifts will be donated to the Central Illinois Foodbank.

CORAL will be providing hot cider, coffee, and cookies during the event. If you feel comfortable with a socially distanced gathering and the weather permits, please bring a folding chair to sit and socialize among friends.

If you would like to volunteer to assist with this event, please comment on this event or send an email to coral.springfield@gmail.com. We can use volunteers to assist with handling the food and with handing out drinks and cookies.

We hope you can attend this event to support those in need in our community! Established in 2000, the Coalition of Rainbow Alliances (CORAL) is a non-profit volunteer group that facilitates networking for the Central Illinois lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities, all other sexual and gender minorities, their family and friends, and the organizations that support them.
