Springfield Pridefest Takes Pride to a New Level

Springfield, IL (May 17, 2025) Marking fifteen years since it’s advent, Springfield Pridefest knocked it out of the Y-block this year with more vendors and new ideas.  With a new team of volunteers stepping forward to take the lead on its fruition, Springfield Pridefest saw a record number of vendors, a larger crowd of attendees than the previous year, and a day of perfect weather to make it more enjoyable than ever.  With their theme being “Forward Together,” there were many opportunities to see everyone coming together for a day of mutual celebration.

The day was kicked off by the parade at 11:30 a.m. which had over 30 participants stretching the entire route from Staab Funeral Home to Pridefest Central.  As each passed the Y-block, Dina and DJ Blake of 101.9 WOLF announced their presence.  CORAL was honored to be the first of three Grand Marshals coming down the stretch of the parade route.

CORAL proudly stepped forward to sponsor the stage for the day and were there for the ribbon cutting and announcement by the Phoenix Center of their new logo moving forward.  Beginning at Noon, various performances began ranging from the cast of “Rent” and “The Prom,” poet Shatriya Smith, Capital City Men’s Chorus, the Queeroke finals, bands, solo artists, and a DJ ABM in between.

With nearly 130 vendors to peruse around the Y-block, there was someone for everyone there to enjoy.  From various groups, churches, and items to be purchased, no one left empty handed or any questions unanswered.

CORAL wants to take this opportunity to thank the Phoenix Center and all the volunteers who stepped forward to give their time and efforts for making this year’s event a grand affair for all to enjoy.  It is well known by us how much goes into these functions and we do appreciate all that you do for our community.
