Friends Gather for CORAL's Thanksgiving Dinner

Springfield, IL (November 22, 2025) For over 40 years, the LGBTQ community has gathered for Thanksgiving sponsored by many organizations that existed at those times.  For the past several of those years, CORAL has proudly carried on that tradition and this year was no exception.

With turkey, ham, and all the favored dinner side dishes and desserts, about 60 people joined in the festivities this year.  Before dinner, Jon Borman of MCC Church blessed the meal and while everyone enjoyed the food, we heard announcements from CORAL, Phoenix Center, Fifth Street/SARA Center, Capital City Men’s Choir, MCC Church, and Decatur Illinois Pride.

On another note, CORAL has also asked that people joining the evening bring items for the local micro-pantries for those who may need assistance enjoying their holiday seasons.  We’re happy to report that it was a great haul this year and we thank all that brought something.
