Petersburg, IL (June 22, 2024) CORAL was proud to repeat their visit to Broadgauge’s Pridefest in Petersburg on Saturday evening, June 22nd for only their second celebration of Pride. In recognition of last year’s intense heat, Douglas Pope and his Broadgauge gang, decided to not only start the event later but also bring the party inside. While there were several Petersburg businesses offering Pride specials throughout the downtown square from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the main event began at 8:00 p.m. on the second floor of Broadgauge.
CORAL was happy to be the lone organization present for the evening and provided all those who attended with Pride flags, stickers, jelly bracelets, pins, and information on what CORAL does for the community. The Broadgauge shirts worn for Pride Nite on June 4th were worn by CORAL representatives this evening and more than one attendee asked where they could buy one but, unfortunately, none were available for purchasing.
The evening included non-stop music by DJ Adam Galassi for dancing, Drag performances by Lucious Holliday Delacroix and Teresa Holliday, and fun for all. Pope got the dance floor going by jumping out with the brave beginners and this enticed the tentative to join in. Not long after, nearly everyone, young and old, were gyrating to the music.
CORAL wants to thank Broadgauge for another fun and entertaining event and hope for many more.
