CORAL Comes Together to Give Thanks

Springfield, IL (November 23, 2024) Celebrating for over 40 years, CORAL’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the Lincoln Park Pavilion on Saturday evening saw nearly 70 members of the community coming together for a night of good food, friendly conversation, and a communion of thanks.  At a time when the LGBTQ+ community and their allies need to come together more than ever, it was a wonderful evening for all to simply enjoy nice company and pleasant conversation.

CORAL provided three turkeys, three hams, fifteen pounds of mash potatoes, and several dishes of stuffing as well as beverages, while attendees brought their favorite side dishes and desserts to be shared.  Several representatives from partner organizations came to provide updates on their activities.  Capital City Men’s Chorus announced their holiday performance, Decatur Illinois Pride provided their upcoming events, and AgeLinc/PrideLinc reminded attendees of their Thursday lunch time gatherings.

CORAL is proud that we can continue this tradition after four decades and still see so many friendly faces joining us each and every year.  Thank you to all those who came and we hope you’ll continue to be a part of our ongoing events and activities.
