Springfield, IL (October 12, 2024) For those who say “There’s nothing to do around here” or “How do I meet people like me in Central Illinois?” CORAL has your answer. For the past few years, an effort to include all activities in the Central Illinois area to one calendar on the CORAL website has been underway. Unfortunately, up till now, it has been mostly a manual process due to incompatibility of systems. However, as many websites of our allies and partners begin to utilize similar abilities, this has made this venture much easier.
A project was begun in October to review websites of all CORAL’s connections in an attempt to merge their calendar of events with CORAL’s website calendar. After tediously searching each website for calendars and working to see if they would communicate with other sites, we have completed the project. CORAL is excited about the final product but do realize some tweaking and enhancements will probably be needed as we continue to work forward.
If any allies, partners, and or interested parties might be interested in being included on CORAL’s “Community Calendar,” the easiest approach is to convert or create your calendar to Google, which is the same core provide used. Otherwise, simply reach out via the webpage and a ticket will be opened to see what can be done to get your events added.
