SPRINGFIELD, IL (September 22, 2019) - The AIDS Memorial Labyrinth, constructed in Lincoln Park, was dedicated on September 21, 2019. Fifth Street Renaissance/SARA Center has worked on this project for many years and is glad to have the monument complete. The labyrinth honors those who have lost their fight to the disease and our community members who have fought to ease their suffering. CORAL has supported this project and provided for a contemplation bench at the monument.
Established in 2000, the Coalition of Rainbow Alliances (CORAL) is a non-profit volunteer group that facilitates networking for the Central Illinois lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities, all other sexual and gender minorities, their family and friends, and the organizations that support them.
