October 12, 2024 (Springfield, IL) In an attempt to revive the good old days of SALO’s barn dances, CORAL put out the spread to entice members to put on their country-style best and boot-scootin ways to enjoy a night of prizes, snacks, dancing, and just good old fashioned socializing. Held under the crystalized starlight of chandeliers at Pole Barn Chic from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00, it was a beautiful evening for everyone who ventured out.
The weather couldn’t have been more ideal as over forty attendees strolled from fire pits to the elegant dance floor inside the barn. With cowboy hats, denim, and boots, people reveled in the moment to let their inhibitions vanish and go back to a simpler time. Drinks were provided by Pole Barn Chic and a special treat of LGBTQ themed cookies were created by Red Barn Bakery. Door prizes included donated items from Lowe’s (Mike Yankee), t-shirts from Logan County Pride, and a new friend of CORAL’s, Todd Talbert; with almost everyone walking away with something before the evening was over.
To all those who attended, CORAL would like to extend a huge thank you for making the evening one we’ll remember and continue to make it a part of our annual activities moving on.
